### sec.140 Transitional—change of name to District Court of Queensland
To remove doubt, it is declared that changing the court’s name from the ‘District Court’ to the ‘District Court of Queensland’ does not affect the following—
any jurisdiction or power of the court or 1 or more judges of the court;
anything done or existing in relation to the court;
a proceeding pending in the court;
any appointment;
the seniority of a judge;
any principle or rule of law or equity;
any right, privilege or liability.

If, before the commencement of this section, there is a reference in an Act or document to the District Court Act 1967 , then, from the commencement, if the context permits, the reference is taken to be a reference to the District Court of Queensland Act 1967 .
If, before the commencement of this section, there is a reference in an Act or document to the District Court, including a reference to the District Court by virtue of section 139, then, from the commencement, if the context permits, the reference is taken to be a reference to the District Court of Queensland.

(sec.140-ssec.1) To remove doubt, it is declared that changing the court’s name from the ‘District Court’ to the ‘District Court of Queensland’ does not affect the following— any jurisdiction or power of the court or 1 or more judges of the court; anything done or existing in relation to the court; a proceeding pending in the court; any appointment; the seniority of a judge; any principle or rule of law or equity; any right, privilege or liability. (sec.140-ssec.2) If, before the commencement of this section, there is a reference in an Act or document to the District Court Act 1967 , then, from the commencement, if the context permits, the reference is taken to be a reference to the District Court of Queensland Act 1967 .
(sec.140-ssec.3) If, before the commencement of this section, there is a reference in an Act or document to the District Court, including a reference to the District Court by virtue of section 139, then, from the commencement, if the context permits, the reference is taken to be a reference to the District Court of Queensland.
- (a) any jurisdiction or power of the court or 1 or more judges of the court;
- (b) anything done or existing in relation to the court;
- (c) a proceeding pending in the court;
- (d) any appointment;
- (e) the seniority of a judge;
- (f) any principle or rule of law or equity;
