### sec.21B State disaster coordinator
The chairperson of the QDMC must appoint one of the following persons as a State disaster coordinator to coordinate disaster operations for the group—
a deputy commissioner of the police service;
another person the chairperson decides, after considering the nature of the disaster operations, should be appointed to coordinate the operations.
The chairperson must consult with the police commissioner before making the appointment.
The appointment must be in writing and may only be terminated in writing.
The chairperson may only appoint a person, other than a deputy commissioner of the police service, as a State disaster coordinator if the chairperson is satisfied the person has the necessary expertise or experience to perform the functions of a State disaster coordinator.
