### sec.121 Applying for compensation
A person who suffers loss or damage because of the exercise, or purported exercise, of a power under section 77 , 78 , 111 or 112 may apply to the police commissioner for compensation for the loss or damage.
The application must be made in writing within 90 days after the person suffers the loss or damage.
The application must state—
details of the person’s loss or damage; and
the amount of compensation claimed and the grounds for the amount claimed.
The applicant also must provide any other relevant information reasonably required by the police commissioner to decide the application.
Despite subsection (2) , the police commissioner may accept a person’s application for compensation made more than 90 days after the person suffers the loss or damage if the police commissioner is satisfied it would be reasonable in all the circumstances to accept the application.
