### sec.13 Assistance for director
This section applies if, in relation to a criminal proceeding under consideration or conducted by the director, a matter arises that requires further investigation.
For conducting the investigation, the director may ask—
the commissioner of the police service for the assistance of a police officer; or
the chief executive of the department in which the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001 is administered for the assistance of a person who is appointed as an inspector under that Act, section 114 ; or
the chief executive officer under the Crime and Corruption Act 2001 for the assistance of a commission officer under that Act.
A request under subsection (2) must be in writing.
A person of whom a request is made under subsection (2) must, as far as possible, comply with the request.
