### sec.250 Approval of grant
The chief executive may approve a grant of financial assistance if satisfied the program or service funded by the grant will—
promote prisoner welfare; or
help former prisoners reintegrate into the community after their release from custody.
In deciding whether to approve the grant, the matters the chief executive may consider include the following—
whether the program or service is currently provided for;
whether the entity is receiving financial assistance from another source to provide the program or service, and if so, the extent of the assistance.
(sec.250-ssec.1) The chief executive may approve a grant of financial assistance if satisfied the program or service funded by the grant will— promote prisoner welfare; or help former prisoners reintegrate into the community after their release from custody.
