### sec.226 Vacancy in office
An appointed board member’s office becomes vacant if—
the member completes the member’s term of office; or
the member resigns office by signed notice given to the Minister; or
the member’s appointment is terminated by the Governor in Council under subsection (2) or (3) .
The Governor in Council may, at any time, end the appointment of a community board member for any reason or none.
The Governor in Council may terminate the appointment of another appointed board member if the member—
is guilty of misconduct of a type that could warrant dismissal from the public service if the member were an officer of the public service; or
becomes incapable of satisfactorily performing the functions of a board member because of physical or mental incapacity or for some other reason.
