116 Body searches—directions
The director-general may direct a doctor appointed under section 22
(Health practitioners—non-therapeutic functions) to conduct a body
search of a detainee if the director-general suspects, on reasonable
grounds, that the detainee—
(a) has ingested or inserted something in the detainee’s body that
may jeopardise the detainee’s health or wellbeing; or
(b) has a prohibited thing concealed in or on the detainee’s body
that may be used in a way that may pose a risk to the security or
good order at a correctional centre; or
(c) has evidence of the commission of an offence or disciplinary
breach concealed in or on the detainee.
