149 Monitoring orders—application
(1) A police officer may apply to a relevant court for a monitoring order.
grounds for suspecting that the person in relation to whom the order
is sought—
(a) has committed, or is about to commit, a serious offence; or
(b) was involved in the commission, or is about to be involved in
the commission, of a serious offence; or
(c) has derived, or is about to derive, property or a benefit from the
commission of a serious offence.
Note Serious offence means an offence against a territory law or the law of the
Commonwealth, a State or another Territory that is punishable by
imprisonment for 5 years or longer (see s 13 (2)).
