### sec.14 Answers and documents
Nothing in this Act shall make it compulsory for any witness before a commission to—
disclose to the commission any secret process of manufacture; or
produce any book, document, writing or record or property or thing of whatever description if the witness has a reasonable excuse for refusing.
A person attending before a commission is not entitled—
to remain silent with respect to any matter relevant to the commission’s inquiry upon the chairperson’s requiring the person to give evidence with respect to that matter; or
to refuse or fail to answer any question that the person is required by the chairperson to answer; or
to refuse or fail to produce any book, document, writing, record, property or thing that the person has been summoned to produce or required by the chairperson to produce;
on the ground that to do otherwise would or might tend to incriminate the person.

(sec.14-ssec.1A) A person attending before a commission is not entitled— to remain silent with respect to any matter relevant to the commission’s inquiry upon the chairperson’s requiring the person to give evidence with respect to that matter; or to refuse or fail to answer any question that the person is required by the chairperson to answer; or to refuse or fail to produce any book, document, writing, record, property or thing that the person has been summoned to produce or required by the chairperson to produce; on the ground that to do otherwise would or might tend to incriminate the person.
- (a) disclose to the commission any secret process of manufacture; or
- (b) produce any book, document, writing or record or property or thing of whatever description if the witness has a reasonable excuse for refusing.
