### sec.70 Declaration of erosion prone areas
The chief executive may declare an area within the coastal zone to be an erosion prone area if satisfied the area may be subject to erosion or tidal inundation.
If the chief executive declares an area under subsection (1) , the chief executive must—
ensure the erosion prone area is shown on a document describing the area; and
keep the document available for inspection by members of the public at the department’s head office; and
give a copy of the document to each local government in whose area the erosion prone area or a part of the erosion prone area is situated.
