### sec.34 Implementation of coastal plan The chief executive must implement the coastal plan. However, the chief executive may arrange for a department, local government, port authority, port operator or statutory authority (a relevant entity ) to carry out particular activities necessary to implement the coastal plan. Without limiting subsection (2) , the chief executive may— ask a relevant entity responsible for managing land in the coastal zone to manage the land in a way that is consistent with coastal management; and ask a relevant entity to carry out an activity in the coastal zone involving— the construction or maintenance of works; or the extraction of material; or the disposal of extracted material. s 34 amd 1999 No. 59 s 23 sub 2011 No. 6 s 13 amd 2016 No. 27 s 138 (sec.34-ssec.1) The chief executive must implement the coastal plan.
