### sec.143 Evidentiary provisions
This section applies to a proceeding under or in relation to this Act.
It is not necessary to prove the appointment of an authorised person or the authority of an authorised person to do anything under this Act.
A signature purporting to be that of the chief executive or an authorised person is evidence of the signature it purports to be.
A certificate purporting to be signed by the chief executive stating any of the following matters is evidence of the matter—
a specified document is a copy of a notice given under this Act;
on a day mentioned in the certificate, a specified person was given a notice under this Act.
A statement in a complaint starting the proceeding of any of the following matters is evidence of the matter—
that the matter of the complaint came to the knowledge of the complainant on a specified day;
that the place where the offence was committed was in a specified coastal management district.
