### sec.96 Miscellaneous
A coal mine must have a standard operating procedure for the following—
controlling access to, and working in, confined spaces at the mine;
minimising the risk to persons from carrying out manual handling tasks;
protecting persons from the following at the mine—
abrasive blasting and high pressure, chemical and mechanical cleaning;
cutting and welding, including using cutting and welding equipment in a confined, wet or dusty location;
laser emissions and other sources of harmful electromagnetic radiation, including solar radiation.
- (a) controlling access to, and working in, confined spaces at the mine;
- (b) minimising the risk to persons from carrying out manual handling tasks;
- (c) protecting persons from the following at the mine— (i) abrasive blasting and high pressure, chemical and mechanical cleaning; (ii) cutting and welding, including using cutting and welding equipment in a confined, wet or dusty location; (iii) laser emissions and other sources of harmful electromagnetic radiation, including solar radiation.
