### sec.85 Coal mine worker or ROC worker not to carry out task unless competent
This section applies only to a task designated, under a coal mine’s training scheme, as a task that may only be carried out by a person who has been assessed as competent to carry the task out.
A coal mine worker at the coal mine, or operational ROC worker for the coal mine, must not carry out the task unless the worker—
has been assessed as competent; and
is authorised by the mine’s site senior executive or the site senior executive’s representative, to carry out the task at or for the coal mine.
Subsection (2) does not apply to a task carried out by a person—
in the course of training; or
in an emergency.

(sec.85-ssec.1) This section applies only to a task designated, under a coal mine’s training scheme, as a task that may only be carried out by a person who has been assessed as competent to carry the task out.
(sec.85-ssec.2) A coal mine worker at the coal mine, or operational ROC worker for the coal mine, must not carry out the task unless the worker— has been assessed as competent; and is authorised by the mine’s site senior executive or the site senior executive’s representative, to carry out the task at or for the coal mine.
(sec.85-ssec.3) Subsection (2) does not apply to a task carried out by a person— in the course of training; or in an emergency.

- (b) is authorised by the mine’s site senior executive or the site senior executive’s representative, to carry out the task at or for the coal mine.
