### sec.357 Monitoring fans
The site senior executive at an underground mine must ensure each fan installed on the surface, and each booster fan installed below ground, at the mine as part of the mine’s ventilation system, is fitted with the following—
an equipment condition monitoring device;
a device capable of continuously monitoring and recording the fan’s static pressure.
The site senior executive must ensure each device mentioned in subsection (1) operates in a way that, if the device detects a significant departure from the fan’s normal operating parameters, the device—
first, triggers a visible alarm; and
second, trips the electricity supply to the fan; and
records the date and time of the action mentioned in paragraphs (a) and (b) .
The site senior executive must ensure the part of the device displaying the results of the monitoring is located where the part is easily accessible by a person whose task includes checking the condition of the fan.
