### sec.56 Appointment of supervisors
A site senior executive for a coal mine must appoint 1 or more persons to be a supervisor at the mine.
The site senior executive must not appoint a person under subsection (1) unless the person—
is competent to be a supervisor; and
if there is a safety and health competency for supervisors recognised by the committee—has the relevant competency.
Maximum penalty—100 penalty units.

(sec.56-ssec.1) A site senior executive for a coal mine must appoint 1 or more persons to be a supervisor at the mine.
(sec.56-ssec.2) The site senior executive must not appoint a person under subsection (1) unless the person— is competent to be a supervisor; and if there is a safety and health competency for supervisors recognised by the committee—has the relevant competency. Maximum penalty—100 penalty units.
- (a) is competent to be a supervisor; and
- (b) if there is a safety and health competency for supervisors recognised by the committee—has the relevant competency.
