### sec.180 False or misleading documents
A person must not give an inspector, inspection officer, authorised officer or industry safety and health representative a document containing information the person knows is false or misleading in a material particular.
Maximum penalty—100 penalty units.
Subsection (1) does not apply to a person if the person, when giving the document—
tells the inspector, inspection officer, authorised officer or industry safety and health representative, to the best of the person’s ability, how it is false or misleading; and
if the person has, or can reasonably obtain, the correct information—gives the correct information.
Also, a person must not make an entry in a document required or permitted to be made or kept under this Act knowing the entry to be false or misleading in a material particular.

It is enough for a complaint for an offence against subsection (1) or (3) to allege and prove that the document or entry was ‘false or misleading’ to the person’s knowledge, without specifying which.
