### sec.79A Protection and immunity
In performing the functions of referee, a referee has the same protection and immunity as a Supreme Court judge performing a judicial function.
A party appearing in an inquiry before a referee has the same protection and immunity as the party would have if the inquiry were a proceeding being heard before the Supreme Court.
A witness attending an inquiry before a referee has the same protection and immunity as a witness attending before the Supreme Court.
A document produced at, or used for, an inquiry before a referee has the same protection during the inquiry as it would have if produced before the Supreme Court.
In this section—
inquiry , before a referee, means an inquiry into a question in a proceeding that is referred under the rules to the referee.
party includes a party’s lawyer or agent.
referee means a referee appointed under the rules.
