### sec.24 Discharge of lien or security
This section applies to a proceeding if—
a party (the claimant ) claims the recovery of particular property other than land (the relevant property ); and
the party from whom recovery is sought—
claims to be entitled to retain the relevant property because of a lien or as security for money; and
does not otherwise dispute the title of the claimant.
The court may make an order—
allowing the claimant to pay into court, to be held until the end of the proceeding—
the amount of money in relation to which the lien or other security is claimed; and
any other sum for interest and costs as the court may direct; and
that, on payment into court, such judgment be given for recovery of the relevant property as the nature of the case requires.
