### sec.37 Length of reporting period—existing reportable offence
A reportable offender convicted of an existing reportable offence must comply with reporting obligations imposed on the offender under this part for the offence for 5 years.
However, the reportable offender must comply with reporting obligations imposed on the offender under this part for the offence for 10 years if—
the offender was given notice of reporting obligations under this Act or a corresponding Act in relation to 1 or more other reportable offences, regardless of when the other offences were committed; and
the existing reportable offence is 1 single offence committed by the offender after being given the notice; and
the offender has not been convicted of a reportable offence committed after the commencement day.

(sec.37-ssec.1) A reportable offender convicted of an existing reportable offence must comply with reporting obligations imposed on the offender under this part for the offence for 5 years.
(sec.37-ssec.2) However, the reportable offender must comply with reporting obligations imposed on the offender under this part for the offence for 10 years if— the offender was given notice of reporting obligations under this Act or a corresponding Act in relation to 1 or more other reportable offences, regardless of when the other offences were committed; and the existing reportable offence is 1 single offence committed by the offender after being given the notice; and the offender has not been convicted of a reportable offence committed after the commencement day.
- (a) the offender was given notice of reporting obligations under this Act or a corresponding Act in relation to 1 or more other reportable offences, regardless of when the other offences were committed; and
- (b) the existing reportable offence is 1 single offence committed by the offender after being given the notice; and
- (c) the offender has not been convicted of a reportable offence committed after the commencement day.
