### sec.206 Show cause notice
If a local government reasonably believes proper grounds exist for applying to the tribunal to start a disciplinary proceeding against a building certifier, the local government must before making the application give the building certifier a notice (a show cause notice ).
The show cause notice must—
state the grounds for making the application; and
outline the facts and circumstances forming the basis for the grounds; and
invite the building certifier to show within a stated period (the show cause period ) why the application should not be made.
The show cause period must be a period ending not less than 20 business days after the show cause notice is given to the building certifier.
