### sec.119 Registrar to give notice of registration of child’s death to family and child commissioner This section applies if the registrar registers the death of a child, other than a stillborn child. The registrar must give notice of the registration to— the family and child commissioner; and the chief executive (child safety). The notice must include the following information, to the extent it is known to the registrar— for the notice to the family and child commissioner— the registration number for the registration; and the child’s name; and the child’s date and place of birth; and the child’s usual place of residence; and the child’s sex; and the child’s occupation, if any; and the duration of the last illness, if any, had by the child; and the date and place of death; and the cause of death; for the notice to the chief executive (child safety)— the child’s name; and the child’s date and place of birth; and the child’s usual place of residence; and the date and place of death; and the cause of death. To the extent that it is practicable to do so, the registrar must give the notice within 30 days after registering the death. In this section— chief executive (child safety) means the chief executive of the department in which the Child Protection Act 1999 is administered.
