### sec.484 Cancellation, suspension or amendment by chief executive—show cause notice
If the chief executive believes a ground exists to cancel or suspend a relevant authority (the proposed action ), or if the chief executive proposes to amend a relevant authority (also the proposed action ), the chief executive must give the holder of the authority notice under this section (a show cause notice ).
The show cause notice must state each of the following—
the proposed action;
the ground for the proposed action;
an outline of the facts and circumstances forming the basis for the ground;
if the proposed action is to suspend the authority—the proposed suspension period;
if the proposed action is to amend the authority—the proposed amendment;
that the holder may, within a stated period (the show cause period ), make written representations to the chief executive to show why the proposed action should not be taken.
The show cause period must end at least 28 days after the holder is given the show cause notice.
This section does not apply if the proposed action is to amend an auditor’s approval by imposing a condition under section 454 (3) (b) .
