### sec.380 Recovery of costs of taking steps under biosecurity order
The issuing authority for a biosecurity order may recover the amount that the issuing authority properly and reasonably incurs in taking the steps under section 263 as a debt payable by the person who failed to take the action to the issuing authority.
The issuing authority must give the person notice of the amount of the debt.
For subsection (1) , the amount becomes payable 30 days after the issuing authority gives the person notice of the amount of the debt.
If the issuing authority is a local government, the amount payable to the local government is, for the purposes of recovery, taken to be rates owing to the local government.
