### sec.250 Purpose of division
The purpose of this division is to make special provision for—
the appointment of police officers as inspectors under this Act; and
the appointment, as authorised persons under this Act, of persons appointed under TORUM as authorised officers or accredited persons.
This division does not limit any power the chief executive may have—
under division 1 , to appoint, subject to the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 , section 13 , a police officer as an inspector under this Act; or
under division 2 , to appoint an authorised officer or accredited person under TORUM as an authorised person under this Act.
(sec.250-ssec.1) The purpose of this division is to make special provision for— the appointment of police officers as inspectors under this Act; and the appointment, as authorised persons under this Act, of persons appointed under TORUM as authorised officers or accredited persons.
(sec.250-ssec.2) This division does not limit any power the chief executive may have— under division 1 , to appoint, subject to the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 , section 13 , a police officer as an inspector under this Act; or under division 2 , to appoint an authorised officer or accredited person under TORUM as an authorised person under this Act.
- (a) the appointment of police officers as inspectors under this Act; and
- (b) the appointment, as authorised persons under this Act, of persons appointed under TORUM as authorised officers or accredited persons.
- (a) under division 1 , to appoint, subject to the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 , section 13 , a police officer as an inspector under this Act; or
- (b) under division 2 , to appoint an authorised officer or accredited person under TORUM as an authorised person under this Act.
