135 Attorney-General must affirm, vary or cancel urgent CIO1

CIO authorities granted by Director-General3
(1) If the Director-General grants a CIO authority under section 133,4
the Attorney-General must:5
(a) do one of the following:6
(i) affirm the CIO authority;7
(ii) vary, under section 131, the CIO authority;8
(iii) cancel, under subsection 140(1), the CIO authority; and9
(b) do so as soon as practicable after being informed of the10
granting of the CIO authority under section 133, but no later11
than the time the CIO authority ceases to be in force.12
CIO authorities varied by Director-General13
(2) If the Director-General varies a CIO authority (the CIO authority14
as varied) under section 134, the Attorney-General must:15
(a) do one of the following:16
(i) affirm the CIO authority as varied;17
(ii) vary, under section 131, the CIO authority as varied;18
(iii) cancel, under subsection 140(1), the CIO authority as19
varied; and20
(b) do so as soon as practicable after being informed of the CIO21
authority as varied under section 134, but no later than the22
time the CIO authority ceases to be in force.23
Notification requirements24
(3) The Attorney-General must:25
(a) cause the Director-General to be informed of the decision26
under paragraph (1)(a) or (2)(a) (as the case requires) as soon27
as practicable after making the decision; and28
(b) make a written record of the decision; and29
(c) cause the Director-General to be given a copy of the written30
record as soon as practicable after the written record is made.31
