### sec.50 Proceedings for offences
A prosecution for an offence against this Act is to be by way of summary proceedings under the Justices Act 1886 on complaint of—
a person authorised by the chief executive for that purpose, either generally or in a particular case; or
a police officer.
The authority of a person referred to in subsection (1) (a) to make a complaint is to be presumed until the contrary is proved.
The requirement to proceed in a summary way is subject to section 50B .

(sec.50-ssec.1) A prosecution for an offence against this Act is to be by way of summary proceedings under the Justices Act 1886 on complaint of— a person authorised by the chief executive for that purpose, either generally or in a particular case; or a police officer.
