### sec.42 Right of way to ambulances
Despite the provisions of the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 , a driver of a vehicle (other than a train), to the extent practicable, is to give clear and uninterrupted passage to—
any ambulance with warning devices sounding or warning lights activated; and
any service officer or any person acting under the direction of a service officer who appears to be doing any act for the purposes of assisting at an accident or other emergency.
A person is not to fail to comply with subsection (1) .
Maximum penalty for subsection (2) —50 penalty units or 6 months imprisonment.
