### sec.70 Appointment of special investigator
The chief executive may, by written notice, appoint a special investigator over an agent’s trust account if the chief executive considers the trust account has not been kept as required under this Act.
The notice must state—
the agent’s name and details of the trust account; and
the terms on which the special investigator is appointed; and
the special investigator’s functions and powers.
A copy of the notice must be given to the agent.
The chief executive may appoint a person as a special investigator only if the chief executive is satisfied the person is appropriately qualified to perform a special investigator’s functions.
An inspector may be appointed as a special investigator.
