### sec.278 What is the mailbox service
The mailbox service is a service conducted by the chief executive to enable parties to a proposed adoption or adoption and other particular persons to exchange information.
The information may be—
non-identifying, where the persons—
would not otherwise be able to exchange the information because of this part; or
are able to obtain identifying information about each other but choose to communicate on a non-identifying basis; or
identifying, where the persons have identifying information about each other and choose to use the service to exchange information.

(sec.278-ssec.1) The mailbox service is a service conducted by the chief executive to enable parties to a proposed adoption or adoption and other particular persons to exchange information.
(sec.278-ssec.2) The information may be— non-identifying, where the persons— would not otherwise be able to exchange the information because of this part; or are able to obtain identifying information about each other but choose to communicate on a non-identifying basis; or identifying, where the persons have identifying information about each other and choose to use the service to exchange information.
- (a) non-identifying, where the persons— (i) would not otherwise be able to exchange the information because of this part; or (ii) are able to obtain identifying information about each other but choose to communicate on a non-identifying basis; or
- (i) would not otherwise be able to exchange the information because of this part; or
- (ii) are able to obtain identifying information about each other but choose to communicate on a non-identifying basis; or
- (b) identifying, where the persons have identifying information about each other and choose to use the service to exchange information.
- (i) would not otherwise be able to exchange the information because of this part; or
- (ii) are able to obtain identifying information about each other but choose to communicate on a non-identifying basis; or
