### sec.267 Request by pre-adoption sibling
An adult person (the applicant ) may ask the chief executive for information about the adopted person if—
the applicant would be a sibling of the adopted person if the adoption had not happened; and
the applicant is not also an adopted person.
The chief executive may give information in compliance with the request only if written consent is given by the adopted person.
Subject to subsection (2) , the chief executive must comply with the request by giving the person any of the following held by the chief executive—
the adopted person’s date of birth;
the adopted person’s last known name;
each address of the adopted person;
a prescribed document.
If an adopted person gives consent, it may relate to all the information under subsection (3) or to all the information other than the adopted person’s last known name or any address of the adopted person.
If an adopted person has died, an adult relative of the person may give the consent.
If an adopted person does not have capacity to consent, a guardian or adult relative of the person may give the consent.
