### sec.233 Right of appearance and representation
The parties to a proceeding may appear in person or be represented by a lawyer.
Also, if a child’s parents for any reason can not appear in person in a proceeding concerning the child, another person appointed in writing by the parents may, with the leave of the court, present their views and wishes.
In this section—
party , for a proceeding on an application for an adoption order, includes the child.
(sec.233-ssec.1) The parties to a proceeding may appear in person or be represented by a lawyer.
