### sec.178 Child subject to child protection order
This section applies if the child is in the custody or guardianship of the chief executive (child safety) or someone else under the Child Protection Act 1999 .
The court must not make an adoption order unless a document, signed by the chief executive (child safety), is produced to the court stating that the chief executive (child safety) considers the adoption is an appropriate way of meeting the child’s need for long-term stable care.
