### sec.169 Chief executive to help
On request by the parties to a proposed adoption or adoption, the chief executive must help them to prepare an adoption plan, for example, by making an officer of the department available to act as an intermediary.
If an adoption plan is required under section 172 , the chief executive must arrange for an appropriate Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person to be available to help the parties to prepare the plan.
