### sec.27 Power to hear and determine includes power to administer oath
A person or body authorised by law, or by consent of parties, to conduct a hearing for the purpose of the determination (by that or another person or body) of any matter has authority—
to receive evidence; and
to examine witnesses, and to administer oaths to witnesses, who have been lawfully called before the person or body.
