### sec.39 Service of documents
Any notice or other document required by this Act to be served on any person may be served on such person personally or by post.
If such person is absent from the State the document may be served on the person’s agent in like manner.
If such person is not known or has no known agent in the State, the document shall be served by the publication of the same, or a true abstract thereof, in the gazette and in some newspaper circulating generally in the locality where the land affected is situated.
A document may be served on the constructing authority by being sent by post to the constructing authority at its office or to the office of such person as the constructing authority authorises by public notice to receive documents on its behalf.
