33 Dr McArdle referred the plaintiff to a fellow medical practitioner, Dr Russell Cooper, who practices naturopathy. Dr Cooper gave the plaintiff acupuncture and alternative drug therapy namely, Tahiti Noni Juice and Inflammastat. Although Dr McArdle said that the plaintiff is benefiting from the naturopathy from Dr Cooper, the evidence does not support that view. According to a text tendered in evidence and purporting to be produced by those who manufacture Noni Juice it "help[s] overcome many different health challenges and they include eczema, acne, warts, fibromyalgi, trauma, dandruff, lupus, sunburn, cancers, fevers, ageing ... " - the list ailments that Noni Juice will cure continues for some considerable length! The plaintiff, or at least his counsel, recognise that there is little to support the proposition that naturopathy and Noni Juice provide any benefit for the plaintiff for the claim in respect of the costs associated with Dr Cooper's consultations is limited to those that have already been incurred.
