They must carry photo ID and show it when asked.\n\n- **Sets behaviour rules** — No disorderly conduct, offensive language, or harassing others. Penalties apply for breaking these rules.\n\n- **Controls access and activities** — You must use official entrances. You need permission to: camp, light fires, use weapons, erect structures, use loudspeakers, sell things, or distribute flyers. There are designated areas for camping and fires.\n\n- **Manages animals** — Only dogs allowed (other animals banned without permission). Dogs must be on leashes (max 2 metres) or under close voice control, and kept out of signed exclusion zones. **Exception:** Assistance dogs (like guide dogs) can go anywhere.\n\n- **Regulates vehicles** — Speed limit 15 km/h unless signed otherwise. No driving on the foreshore. Must pay parking fees, follow traffic signs, and obey authorised persons. No dangerous or noisy driving.\n\n- **Deals with abandoned property** — Vehicles or gear left unattended for 24+ hours can be seized and impounded. If unclaimed after 3 months, the Trust can sell it. Owners can be charged for removal costs.\n\n- **Protects enforcement staff** — It's an offence to hinder, abuse, or lie to authorised persons (though you can stay silent if answering would incriminate you).\n\n**Why it matters:** These rules keep the Reserve safe, clean, and accessible for everyone—balancing recreation with environmental protection and public order.
