The 1917 regulations governed Australia's leather industries—essential for manufacturing military boots, saddles, and equipment. This 1919 regulation simply removes those wartime controls, effectively handing control of the leather trade back to normal peacetime operations.\n\n**Who it affects**\n*   Leather manufacturers, tanners, and traders previously bound by the 1917 rules\n*   Businesses supplying leather goods to defence forces (now operating under ordinary commercial law rather than wartime directives)\n\n**Why it matters**\nMade in May 1919, six months after the Armistice, this represents the demobilisation of emergency wartime powers as Australia transitioned back to peacetime governance."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/war-precautions-leather-industries-regulations-1917-repeal","history":"/api/acts/war-precautions-leather-industries-regulations-1917-repeal/history","analysis":"/api/acts/war-precautions-leather-industries-regulations-1917-repeal/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/war-precautions-leather-industries-regulations-1917-repeal/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/war-precautions-leather-industries-regulations-1917-repeal/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/war-precautions-leather-industries-regulations-1917-repeal/documents"}}
