Victoria generously allowed the Commonwealth Parliament to use its own Parliament House for 26 years. This Act represents the Commonwealth's \"thank you\"—providing funds to build a lasting memorial commemorating this historic arrangement.\n\n**What the Act does:**\n- Appropriates (sets aside) up to £50,000 from the Consolidated Revenue Fund (Australia's main government bank account)\n- Restricts the money to building a memorial at the Victorian Parliament House\n- Marks the period from Federation (1901) until the move to Canberra (1927)"}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/victorian-parliament-house-memorial-act-1927","history":"/api/acts/victorian-parliament-house-memorial-act-1927/history","analysis":"/api/acts/victorian-parliament-house-memorial-act-1927/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/victorian-parliament-house-memorial-act-1927/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/victorian-parliament-house-memorial-act-1927/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/victorian-parliament-house-memorial-act-1927/documents"}}
