The classifications now covered are:\n\n- **Telegraph mechanic** — workers who repair and maintain telegraph equipment\n- **Telegraph serviceman** — workers who service telegraph systems  \n- **Telegraph mechanic and serviceman** — workers performing both roles\n\n**Who it affects**\nEmployees working in these three specific telegraph-related classifications, who now receive the same statutory protections, rights, or certification requirements as other electrical tradespeople covered by Part V of the Act.\n\n**Why it matters**\nThis ensures telegraph workers are not excluded from the workplace protections or professional standards that apply to electrical trades under Commonwealth law. It recognizes that telecommunications equipment work involves similar technical skills and safety considerations as traditional electrical trades."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/tradesman-s-rights-regulations","history":"/api/acts/tradesman-s-rights-regulations/history","analysis":"/api/acts/tradesman-s-rights-regulations/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/tradesman-s-rights-regulations/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/tradesman-s-rights-regulations/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/tradesman-s-rights-regulations/documents"}}
