These Regulations may be cited as the Trade Practices (Apparel and Related Goods Safety Standard) Regulations.\n\nCommencement\n\n2. These Regulations shall come into operation on 17 February 1979.\n\nPrescribed consumer product safety standard for apparel and related goods\n\n3. (1) For the purposes of section 62 of the Trade Practices Act 1974, the consumer product safety standard specified in sub-regulation (2) is prescribed in respect of—\n\n(a) apparel; and\n\n(b) yarns, textile fabrics or synthetic fibres of a kind used in the making of apparel.\n\n(2) The consumer product safety standard referred to in sub-regulation (1) consists of the requirement that—\n\n(a) apparel; and\n\n(b) yarns, textile fabrics or synthetic fibres of a kind used in the making of apparel,\n\nshall not contain tris (2, 3 dibromopropyl) phosphate.\n\n  \nNOTE\n\n1\\.
