It amends the existing Vehicle Management Local Law 2021.\n\n**Key changes include:**\n\n- **Streamlining decision-making**: Removes the requirement for the Council to pass a formal resolution (a formal vote at a meeting) for various parking decisions. Instead, the \"local government\" can make these decisions, which allows for more flexible administrative processes.\n\n- **Loading zone rules**: Clarifies that only commercial vehicles actively picking up or dropping off goods can use loading zones, with time limits of either what's shown on the sign or 30 minutes if no time is shown.\n\n- **Residential parking**: Changes rules around parking permits for residents, removing the requirement for written applications in some cases and clarifying that permits are required to park in designated spaces.\n\n- **Paid parking**: Updates definitions and processes for parking payment machines, removing outdated terminology.\n\n- **Crossover parking**: Clarifies that drivers can stop across residential driveways (crossovers) only if they are dropping off or picking up passengers (for no more than 2 minutes) and they either live there or have permission from the resident.\n\n- **Permit validity**: Changes permit validity periods from a fixed one-year term to a specific date-based system.\n\n**Who it affects:**\n- Residents of the Town of Victoria Park who use residential parking permits\n- Businesses using loading zones\n- Anyone parking in the Town of Victoria Park, including visitors using paid parking\n- The local council staff who administer parking rules\n\n**Why it matters:**\nThese changes make parking administration more efficient by reducing bureaucratic processes, clarify parking rules to reduce confusion, and ensure the local law works properly with updated payment systems and permit arrangements."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/town-of-victoria-park-amendment-local-law-2024","history":"/api/acts/town-of-victoria-park-amendment-local-law-2024/history","analysis":"/api/acts/town-of-victoria-park-amendment-local-law-2024/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/town-of-victoria-park-amendment-local-law-2024/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/town-of-victoria-park-amendment-local-law-2024/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/town-of-victoria-park-amendment-local-law-2024/documents"}}
