The Board must report annually and notify the Minister of significant risks.\n\n**Who it affects:**\n- Students seeking vocational qualifications (certificates I–VI)\n- Employers needing skilled workers\n- Staff transitioning from State Service employment to TasTAFE-specific contracts\n- The Board and CEO, who face criminal penalties for dishonesty or misuse of position\n\n**Why it matters:**\nThis gives TasTAFE more operational independence than it had under the previous Act, while keeping it accountable to the Minister and Parliament. It clarifies that TasTAFE staff are not public servants, allows commercial activities, and creates specific offences for misconduct—balancing flexibility with safeguards."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/tastafe-skills-and-training-business-act-2021","history":"/api/acts/tastafe-skills-and-training-business-act-2021/history","analysis":"/api/acts/tastafe-skills-and-training-business-act-2021/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/tastafe-skills-and-training-business-act-2021/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/tastafe-skills-and-training-business-act-2021/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/tastafe-skills-and-training-business-act-2021/documents"}}
