The Commonwealth Government is giving **£130,000** to Tasmania as financial assistance for the 1933-34 financial year. This payment is **on top of** money already flowing to Tasmania under a 1929 Act.\n\n**What it does:**\n- Authorises a single grant paid from the Consolidated Revenue Fund (Australia's main government bank account)\n- Splits the payment into **12 equal monthly instalments** (roughly £10,833 per month)\n- Applies only to the financial year starting 1 July 1933\n\n**Who it affects:**\nPrimarily the Tasmanian Government, which received this federal support during the Great Depression. It does not impose obligations on individuals or businesses.\n\n**Why it matters:**\nThis was typical of 1930s federal-state financial relations, where the Commonwealth provided direct grants to states struggling with reduced tax revenue during the economic crisis."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/tasmania-grant-act-1933","history":"/api/acts/tasmania-grant-act-1933/history","analysis":"/api/acts/tasmania-grant-act-1933/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/tasmania-grant-act-1933/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/tasmania-grant-act-1933/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/tasmania-grant-act-1933/documents"}}
