Mechanically, the same described flat ribbon cables are reclassified to tariff heading 8544.49.20 and made subject to Schedule 4 item 50 from 01.01.07. This changes which concession (and thus which duty treatment) applies to those imports. The change was effected by a delegate of the Chief Executive Officer under Section 269SD(2) of the Customs Act 1901, and importers/manufacturers therefore bear any compliance or duty consequences."},"complexity_factors":["Administrative revocation/replacement of a single Tariff Concession Order (relatively narrow action)","Technical tariff classifications involved (change from 8544.59 in Table A to 8544.49.20 in Table B)","Change in Schedule 4 item reference (from prior entry shown in Table A to item 50 in Table B)","Precise product description with exclusions (connectors, jumpers ≤ 2,800 mm, conductor cross-section ≥ 0.5 sq mm) increases scope‑clarity requirements for importers","Effectivity date alignment (revocation and replacement have effect from 01.01.07)","Legal delegation under Section 269SD(2) of the Customs Act 1901 (administrative discretion)"],"plain_english_summary":"This instrument revokes an earlier tariff concession order (TC 8809072) and replaces it with a new tariff concession order (TC 0614479) effective 1 January 2007.
