Name of Determination\n\nThis Determination is the Advance Payment of Entitlement (Waiver of Waiting Period) Determination (No. 1) 1998.\n\n2. Commencement\n\nThis Determination commences on 1 July 1998.\n\n3. Definitions\n\nIn this Determination:\n\n> Act means the Social Security Act 1991.\n\n> approved course of education or study has the meaning given by subsection 541B (5) of the Act.\n\n4. Purpose of Determination\n\nThe purpose of this Determination is to exempt persons undertaking study, whether full-time or part-time, from the 3 month waiting period, under paragraph 1061A (1) (b) of the Act, for an advance payment of a social security entitlement.\n\n5.
