Any money made must go toward St Hilda's, another Melbourne University college, or similar educational purposes\n\n**Who it affects:**\n- Queen's College and St Hilda's College (now part of the University of Melbourne's residential college system)\n- The trustees managing the land for St Hilda's\n\n**Why it matters:**\nThis is a classic example of **\"private legislation\"** — a law passed to solve a specific problem for specific parties that couldn't be fixed through ordinary legal means. Without this Act, Queen's College couldn't have legally transferred the land due to existing trust restrictions. The law also ensures that if St Hilda's ever sells the land, the proceeds stay in the university education system."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/queen-s-college-land-act-1962","history":"/api/acts/queen-s-college-land-act-1962/history","analysis":"/api/acts/queen-s-college-land-act-1962/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/queen-s-college-land-act-1962/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/queen-s-college-land-act-1962/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/queen-s-college-land-act-1962/documents"}}
