This Act may be cited as the Northern Territory Grant (Special Assistance) Act 1983.\n\nCommencement\n\n2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.\n\nPayment of financial assistance\n\n3. (1) There is payable to the Northern Territory during the year that commenced on 1 July 1983, for the purpose of financial assistance, the sum of $16,900,000.\n\n(2) Payments for the purposes of sub-section (1) shall be made in such amounts and at such times as the Treasurer approves.\n\nAppropriation\n\n4.
