Most ceased to have effect in 1949, but four particular rules—numbered 1, 1B, 6 and 12—remained in force because of a specific provision in the *Defence Act 1949*.\n\n**The change**\n\nThis instrument cancels those last four surviving regulations. Once this takes effect, the entire *National Security (Military Forces) Regulations* finally cease to exist.\n\n**Why it matters**\n\nThis is legislative housekeeping: it clears away residual wartime emergency powers that had stayed on the books for years after the main body of regulations expired."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/national-security-military-forces-regulations-amendment","history":"/api/acts/national-security-military-forces-regulations-amendment/history","analysis":"/api/acts/national-security-military-forces-regulations-amendment/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/national-security-military-forces-regulations-amendment/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/national-security-military-forces-regulations-amendment/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/national-security-military-forces-regulations-amendment/documents"}}
